27 Dec update on Adelyn's progress

All caring friends,

Thank you for all the supports and blessing.

Adelyn is able to see better now. She is able to see as far as about 3 metres away. Although she is still unable to figure out the object clearly, but she is able to see the outline of the objects.

Please continue to pray together with me for a better improvement.

24 Nov CD price Update

Hi all supporting friends,

Thank you for making changes in Adelyn's life!!

Just a short update.

As I earlier mentioned, I had managed to raise $80k for Adelyn's eye operation and I will not sell her Little Dream CD at $20 anymore. I thank a lot to those had paid $20 for the CD and also to those continue to support Adelyn.

The CD now will be sell at retail price of $10 each + postage (depend on weigh).

All the sales of the CD will goes to Adelyn's future long term medical fee and development.

Once again, thank you for all your supports and blessing.

You have made Adelyn's life different!!

22 Nov, After ops updates

Dear caring people, after a week of resting at home. Adelyn is getting better. She no longer feels pain or discomfort in her right eye. She is seeing brighter and clearer now. She is still unable to focus on things yet, Doctor said needs about six times to monitor and exercise the nerves. Thank you for all blessing and supports. Hope you can continue to pray with me for miracles. All the best to you and family too!

14 Nov Adelyn's operation Update

Dear friends, a quick update on Adelyn's operation. Adelyn had completed her operation around 6pm. According to doctor, the operation is successful.

But we will not know how much she can see, it will takes her about six months to determine her sight.

She will be able to discharge tomorrow noon. thank you for all wonderful blessing and love for Adelyn.

Will continue to update you on the recovery progress.

I have been waiting this day for years. Since many years back, I have this picture in mind...

MANY CARING PEOPLE WILL PRAY TOGETHER WITH ME ON THIS DAY FOR MIRACLE FOR ADELYN.

Venue: Novena Mount Elizabeth

Time: 2.30pm

Duration: 3-4 hours

She will be staying in hospital for One night and to be discharge on 15 Nov.

29 Oct Little Dream Updates

Dear Caring people,

Adelyn's operation is on 14 Nov 2012. 

I will continue to update you the progress of the eye operation as it goes.

Once again, thank you for all supports and blessing towards Adelyn!!    

This humbling experience has shown me to believe in the human spirit through the Language of Kindness nationally and internationally. Our prayers have been answered as a local foundation we met a few weeks ago has agreed to fund Adelyn's eye operations. It is a wonderful news. Also from the sale of proceeds "Little Dreams" CDs we have achieved over the $80k and we are donating the excess $2.4k to two needy families.

 

My once tears of pain are now tears of joy-it has been emotional and sentimental journey for us.

 

Adelyn and I hope to contribute to the society apart from performing at the President Star Charity but through other means within our capability.

 

Meanwhile we now concluded the CDs sale with a heartfelt thanks to each of you that contributes to this project. May blessing be showered upon you.

I am sorry for neglecting the blog as Adelyn have chicken pox since last week.

She will be involved in President's Star Charity show, LIVE in Channel 5, on 14th Oct @730 pm.

Therefore, I am only able to do the final collating over after the weekend.

Dear caring people,

 

Adelyn and I are overwhelmed by the responses, some from overseas and some came to visit Adelyn. We are really touched by your kind heart, wishes and encouragement as hope was once drifting away.

 

Now 2 weeks on since Adelyn's story went live on the media, as the mother, we are obliged to give you an update. As a single mother with 3 young children, this project Little Dream wouldn't have kicked off without the passion and love of a foreign couple, together with a group of caring individuals of Standard Chartered Private Bank staff. We are blessed as this project is further supported by my trusted friends, local communities, the medias and you. No words can ever describe how grateful we are to have you come forward - Thank you.

 

For Adelyn's eyes operation cost, we target to achieve $80k, and we have to-date received over $67k. Deposit has been made to the specialist and a date has been fixed for Adelyn - 14th Nov. This is a new journey for Adelyn and as a family but the great difference is we have your love, support and encouragement in this journey... we will not be by ourselves.

 

My sincere apology as there may be delay in responding  or overlook to some of your emails while I am in arrangement to produce more CDs. Thank you for your understanding, I will respond to you as soon as I can.

Hi friends, Thank you very much for supporting Adelyn and me for her Little Dream.

Many had asked me; "Why you choose to go to this private surgeon instead of the Govt hospital, which will be much more cheaper and subsidise too".

Reason behind is, I had checked out places like SNEC, TTSH, and even some others eye specialists. But non of them able to operate this Boston Kpro.

Adelyn's Write up

My name is Adelyn. I am 10 years old. I was born with cornea defect called "Peter Anomaly". I was sent for 4 times of cornea transplant when I was between 8 to 12 month old. However, all the cornea was rejected. Today, I can only visual lights, shadows and colors.

I started learning piano when I was 3 year old and now I am in Grade 5. I am always curious about things that happened around me. I like to explore new things. I can't see, but I can feel.

I had tried out horse riding, ballet dancing, Inline skating and many other more. Currently, I am learning violin and going for Grade 1 examination in September.

Last year, my mother learned from the media there is a new type of cornea transplant "Boston Kpro". It is a type of artificial cornea transplant which suit my eyes condition. Therefore, my mother hope to send me for this type of transplant which cost estimate $40k per eye.

I like to play piano very much. I also like to try out different kind of music. I even tried out to compose my own music pieces. I spent almost 2 years to compose 4 music pieces and finalise the complete pieces, and I always wish to have a chance to share my music with the world.

Today, I finally have the opportunity to share my music piece. It might not be the perfect one, but I do really produce this piece whole heartily. Hope you will like it.

Words from Adelyn's Mummy, Mary Lim;

Adelyn is a cheerful and optimistic girl. She is always very curious and asked a lot of questions.

She always wonder how the people and things surround her look like. She also very much wants to see herself too.

There is no best gift to be given to her, other than sending her to do the transplant again. How high is the successful rate?? Some may ask. According to eye specialist, her vision is now equivalent to 0%.  No one able to guarantee it will be successful, but there will be totally no hope if we do not try at all.

A Life time follow up on the eyes after operation is require. So I will be expecting a monthly increase in my expenses. But this does not stop me to send her for the upcoming operation.

As "SEEING"  is Adelyn's only Hope and my only Wish.
